Call of Duty Black Ops Voted ‘Best Game Ending’ Of All Time
13 hours 57 mins ago
We all buy into the hype at some point. I mean, how can we not? The media is a powerful faction, the trailers and reviews can make up our minds for us. So when we first play a game it's not unusual to think it's perfection on disk. It's only after some months we begin notice things, things we didn't realise before or, if we didn't like them, denied them. Lets look back on one of the premium shooters of 2009 so far; Killzone 2
Look Guerilla, I’ve met and hung out with commandos (R.I.P: David & Shaun). There are a lot of sentences where they don’t use verbal abuse. I’m Irish and even I found Rico’s constant abusive whining and stupid genius character makes the whole war thing as uncomfortable as getting your d**k stuck in your trousers. I know there is a tank ten feet away from me, it’d be pretty *bleep*ing hard not to know! I know I need an RPG, I don’t plan on stabbing it to death. Yes I know you need a medic, now *bleep* and die already!

That being said, KZ2's online is certainly no slouch. People still play it, and it released in February.
Fantastic comment.
The shine removes itself from ALL titles that age with the owner. Nostalgia may be a factor in the older titles, but nothing beats the first experience with each game. Although I dont have a PS3 anymore, Killzone 2 was my favourite FPS experience on a console. The online felt so fluid and immersive. It actually felt like a PC FPS. The constant gamplay changes in-match was a fresh and addicting playtype, and it certainly provided many hours of enjoyment.
Far from "perfection on disk", but then what is?
It's good, but not as impressive as some.
Still good though, there was actually a code error with the rating, i meant to give it 3/5 but after reflection i think it warrants 4/5...i think.
The controls were clunky, respawning took a while, some maps were so big, it took 5 mins to get across.
And the motion blur was a bitch.
The key word your said there is "WERE"... have you tried it since the 1.27 patch? The controls are very responsive now! I actually like them over the standard twitchy controls we've been use to for all these years.
There's not one map in Kz2 that takes more than 30 seconds to get across the other side! What game are you thinking of... BF:BC or the new BF 1943 maybe? Now those 2 games took forever to get into a fire fight!
You must have an issue with your eyes my friend (you might want to get them checked?)... there was only one level that had noticeable motion blur, and that was the train level in the sp & mp (which hardly anyone plays anyway).
You should give it another try... you never know, it might grow on you like it did me.... now I can't stop playing it! However I could be wrong... maybe it's true what they say "you can't teach an old dog new tricks" LOL!
I could give it another try, but the game wasn't as groundbreaking and "halo killing" as they made it out to be
But . . .oh, that'll completely ruin the whole "Halo Killer" mindset people keep placing on games. So to doubt that Halo was great even looking back, is just plain Taboo!!
Killzone 2 > Halo
Trey 4 Life
How are you any different than the people you're complaining about when you're stating your opinions as fact and factoring in a friggin HD-DVD player to a 360's price?
If anything... you're 10x worse and were humilated 10x more when people easily countered your "360's really cost $1,000,000 while PS3's cost $20" argument.
I'm a harsh critic, I gave Prototype 2/5 and almost gave inFamous 3/5 but for the AWESOME Lightning Storm power and great final boss (It actually felt difficult and was climatic!)
This is a recurring thing and Halo IS on the agenda along with COD4, Haze, GTAIV, Shadow of the Collosus and others. If you think I nit-picked Killzone 2 then you're in for a treat when i get to Halo 3 & Haze. ESPECIALLY HAZE :@
That would've sufficed really. The incentive to play online can become a problem for those needing reasons, though besides the final rank being unbelievably long, all the ribbons and medals kept me going for a LONG ass time.
Also, Killzone 2's storyline falls pretty short compared to the first game...and even to Liberation which both are a lot heavier on the cutscenes and don't tend to focus so much on the mission objectives. Like how int he first game, it focused on the 4 characters struggling to work together, while KZ2 is all about following the next objective. With the exception of the Fall of the New Sun and the ending.
It may not be an end-all-be-all FPS (well, it isn't at all, really, but neither was COD4), but implying that it is simply a glorified half-assed copy of something else is ridiculous.
'Cadet, deploy logic, if that fails then abandon ship!'
Stop your heavy breathing, make your eyes a human colour and supress the need to turn green Dr. Banner. I said IN THE EYES OF THE MASSES. The mass majority of news sites, public who got hyped and general forum-goers thought of it as that, NOT ME. Stop raging as soon as anyone says anything even slightly bad about a PS3 exclusive, k?
Impressive technically but apparently not enough to attain a major fan following like Halo, Gears, Call of Duty, Final Fantasy, GTA. At least me i never felt attached to it.
People can hype up games all the time, rightfully so, and live up to it but that doesn't necessarily make a formula for a fan following all the time. Same thing happened with Crysis. You'd think that game probably should have been the greatest video game ever developed. But hardly anyone got into the game.
