What's in a video game name? Well, somebody took the time to analyze that. All the punctuation abuse, bastardization of caps, use of numbers instead of words, all the bad game titles, it's all roasted by an old, surly gamer...

There is no game on the Wii titled “Punch-out.” There is, however, a game on the Wii titled “Punch-out!!!” You see, you have to yell out the game’s title with three times the intended exclamation as you would a sentence ending with one exclamation mark. You’d have to go up to the sales clerk and say “Kind sir, I’d like to buy PUNCH-OUT!!! for the Wii please.”

I thought it was going to be a list of interesting game titles. It's all ranting. Lame!

    I was expecting humour.
Also, note to Mark Medeiros, your counting is off.

Two exclamation marks. Even your own Punch Out image only has two of them.

he was just exaggerating. saying how ridiculous that it has pointless exclamation points on the end when one or even zero would have sufficed and wouldnt change anything. no one goes into the store and says "i want to buy PUNCH OUT!!!!!11oneevelen please"

How do you speak additional exclamation marks? Additional exclamation marks are only for the eyes to see . . . sort of like colors and art and the like. Nothing wrong with it. Now if someone made a game with more exclamation marks than the name, or with "11oneeleven" and that junk, then while they're doing it for your eye's sake, it would portray the game in a way that would turn me off the game. But hey, it's their art, so let them . . . it just means it's not my game.

i just explained how you speak exclamation points, by yelling the name when you say it.

Nah, yelling is denoted by CAPS, which is why it's rude to YELL in online forums.

The exclamation is denoted by excitement. But . . . How do you speak what you typed? Multiple exclamation marks, followed by 11oneeleven? Adding more excitement? Nah, that would never pass in an Language class. The teacher wouldn't buy it, and would ask for another explanation.

(Besides, kids would yell the name. Especially in the Age of Dora The Explorer where every kid yells. . . and yells LOUDER, then even LOUDER!)

"in an Language class" would never pass in a language class either, Mr Grammar expert.

I know a strange title that wasn't mentioned;Kingdom hearts:358/2 days . It doesn't feel right talking to someone about it when you say the full title .

How are you supposed to say that one exactly?

I think the exact pronunciation is: That Kingdom Hearts Game With Lots of Numbers in the Title.

It's supposed to be pronounced "three five eight days over two",it feels so wierd saying it,so I prefer to simply shorten it to "days".

Why not just simplify the fraction to 179 days?

Because I think the numbers have a certain significance to the story.
