I have a feeling that after people play this, they'll look back on their other FPSs and just sigh and wonder what could have been.

I have a feeling that there is going to be a lot wrong with MAG. Frankly, not a single game trying to revolutionise its genre has ever met with success.

That's true, most of the revolutions by games have been accidental, or because they were the first one to do it good.

i do too. i dont think 256 players is gonna go as smoothly as Sony is bragging that it will.

The first game I remember that REALLY changed the FPS genre was Deus Ex, other than that...we'll see what happens with the Beta.

I hope it doesn't, but i have a feeling this game won't live up to the hype.

It's true that this is the first game to go this far, but there's been games that supported a large number of people long before this. Battlefield 2 supports 64 people and it was released 4 years ago, and by no means did it revolutionize anything. Most games made since then still only support 12-16 players.

I don't think it would revolutionize in the 'We have way more players together than anyone else' field as much as it will for the chain of command.

Revolutionizing is not a word you throw around for just anything. We will see when this game comes out.

'course its going to revolutionize the FPS genre.

Just like every other FPS game does.

Seriously though, while 256 players sounds great, only time will tell whether it'll actually work.
