Last week GameObserver took a look at what makes bad video game names. All the punctuation abuse, bastardization of caps and use of numbers instead of words were taken to town. This week they bring order back in the universe by looking at good video game names.
A good video game name is one that ends in you buying the game. That is all. We’re not talking about album covers where the artist can slap on whatever random artwork and inexplicable title that he or she best conveys whatever message or cause they believe in at that very moment. And while we did get that last year with Braid, that was preceded with months of Jonathon Blow yelling to anyone that would listen “This is my artistic game! Appreciate it!” No, video games don’t get off quite as easily as musicians. Only a select few game developers could selfservingly release a “self-titled” game the way musicians release albums named after themselves. Which is a crying shame because I’d be all over a video game simply titled “Naughty Dog.”

And I agree Big A2. I always thought it was kinda lame.
