With Valve's newly announced L4D DLC, you'd think it would come with relief. Well, at least for PC users. 360 owners are torn down the middle on whether to invest in the new DLC, or wait until the quick follow-up Left 4 Dead 2 comes out. Many are not expecting this DLC to be compatible with L4D2, so gamers must make a choice.

Left 4 Dead has become a popular online game amongst gamers. However, Valve the studio behind the game received some flak recently for announcing the sequel less than a year from the launch of the first game. It seems Valve isn’t helping things much by further splintering the fanbase with DLC for the game.

I just think it's pretty obvious they only did this to counter the bad feedback. Just give us a damn server list already.

Nope, or at least not last I knew. Originally you could just use a console command to get around the dogshit matchmaking system, but I believe they stopped it in an update. They've been promising a better matchmaking system for ages now...which will be absolutely brilliant when they actually release it seeing as I'll be playing Left 4 Dead 2 instead.

I can say with confidence that it is probably only costly on the 360 because Valve want to implement the achievements into it, else it'd be free.

Microsoft charge companies if they want to add achievements to DLC and make the users pay for it, so what i think Valve may be doing now is adding achievements from the previous DLC which was the survival pack and also adding achievements for this new DLC as well for the low price of 560 MS Points.

Possibly, but it's also known Valve want to release free content on the console but Microsoft are strongly against it, hence Orange Box's lack of support.

Or Microsoft are the business we all know they are and are charging because they can without major ramifications, like any other company would if they had the option.

Kave En saw an article negitive towards Valve and he was like "HELL YEAH!! Those guys don't worship the PS3. Fail."

Dystopia saw a chance to be an unnecessarily over the top smart arse... but, it's against Kave En, so have a thumb.
