All this talk about the rumored PS3 slim is every where. Its hard not have heard about it, well about the other big console out there? What if the Xbox 360 received a slimmed down version? WHat kind of features would it have and how should we expect a Slim 360? Microsoft should put this on the top of there maybe list.

With the latest news of the 360 Pro being discontinued along with the Arcade and Elite console’s likely dropping in price to $149 and $299, would Microsoft think about slimming the 360?

Here’s how it looks right now, the Wii has a console the size of a GPX DVD player and the PS3 will be slimming down to about half the size of an XBOX 360. The 360 isn’t as big as the PS3 currently is, but will look like a mammoth compared to the Slim PS3 and the Wii.

Apple does. We leave making things smaller without doing anything new at all to them.

Because the thing would melt down in less than half an hour. Seriously, if they only just solved the overheating problem just a little while ago, how would they manage putting all that in a compact package? You'd get a 100% fail rate.

If they're going to do it, it's going to be a 360/Natal bundle that'll catch the eye of the more casual groups. Not as small as the Wii, but recognizable.

Having a slim console does nothing to change the actual gameplay or performance of the machine. =/

But you can fit it in a slightly smaller space then you could before. That's what counts.

I couldn't care less if they made a slim model, it's not like I'm want to take my 360 with me wherever I go.

They would seriously have to redesign and reMAKE the console to fix the current flaws (such as the clamps, which IMO are a flawed design for the console). Then after that . . . HEY I'd say go for it. Having something smaller (so long as it produces less/equal heat and uses less/equal energy) is almost always a great idea!

The thing is, since the 360 and PS3 are quite monstrous (more-so the latter, obviously) I wouldn't mind slim versions... BUT, if they make one so long after releasing the actual console itself then it just seem pretty *bleep*ing pointless.
