EVE Online is a game that gets talked bad about for several issues, and its marketing doesn't do the best job of portraying what it really is. However, if you give it a try, you'll find a game that is actually quite interesting.

    I downloaded the three-week trial from Steam. I installed it and played it for less than ten minutes before uninstalling. This game is so damn complicated and the only way you'll ever be good at it is to be a facking God at micromanagement and clicking small, fast-moving objects. Sorry EVE, I'll stick with games that are not only fun but don't cost fifteen dollars per month.
