Although Metal Gear Solid 4 is a excellent game, the sheer ease and smoothness of Splinter Cell: Conviction's gameplay will give gamers the better control in the stealth genre between these two rivals. In terms of gameplay Sam Fisher takes the cake.

Sam Fisher isn’t the same as the previous version gamers are use too. Sam Fisher is quicker, badder, and better and in terms of gameplay Sam Fisher beats Solid Snake in many ways making Splinter Cell Conviction the official rebirth to this franchise in every way.

Hold up, hold up, lemme try that:

How about Prototype 2 vs. inFamous? P2 wins thanks mostly to the more advanced gameplay and everything else.

Awww yeah, son. I gotta waste my time writing a blog about this totally illogical comparison now and try to convince myself (and others) that my opinion is fact.

if you read the article and the excerpt you'll see that i'm only talking in terms of gameplay everything else metal gear wins hands down with the story , characters all of that

Well ain't that frikking redundat. Generally what other journalists (and I use the term very loosely when describing you) do is compare all of those aspects and come to a completely objective decision. It's called making an article which isn't a load of shit, you degenerate *bleep*wit.

You're pretty much missing the whole point here. Yeah, it's understood that Conviction's looking great...what's with comparing it to a game that came out LAST year and that the only thing in common is the genre? You knew exactly what you were doing.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Sam Fisher is just a wannabe-Solid Snake. Its like saying Marilyn Manson is better than Alice Cooper just because he's newer...

and Solid Snake is just a wannabe Big Boss, so ya know. Naked Snake/Big Boss is so much cooler than Snake its not even funny. hes got a damn eye patch for gods sake. thats an instant 10,000 cool points.

there should be a game where you get to play as Big Boss when he was actually Big Boss, aka after MGS3, when he had white hair, a beard, his eye patch and a trench coat. doesnt get much cooler than that. it would be like getting to play as Wesker in a game for Resident Evil fans.

he doesnt have white hair in Peace Walker though. and i dont see him in the trench coat. i want like Zanzibarland era time, around when Snake defeats him.

So you just want Portable Ops/Peacewalker with an alternate costume then?

          Shinobi_razor Aug 14, 09
Peace Walker happens during the Zanzibarland time like from Metal Gear? then yeah i guess so. ill probably have fun with Peace Walker though i should play MGS4 first.

Well, you only spoke of how he looked, meaning an alt costume should do you fine.

i doubt they will give you that option for a costume though. the trailer shows him in 4 alternate costumes that all are a variation off of the green uniform he wears in MGS3.

here's the reasons why I did the comparison.

    1. Sam Fisher and Solid Snake has been rivals since splinter cell 1 came out ( Stealth vs Stealth)

    2. Sam Fisher is soo much different now as well as Solid Snake but playing the game is different, Splinter Cell's gameplay is much less complex than Metal Gear. It's easier to pull off the moves, and the new features they added surpasses that of metal gears such as the ghosting flank technique or kill breach attacks that's earned doing stealth moves.

    3. Splinter Cell is amazing but comparing it too MGS will get peoples attention more so they can see that splinter cell is not just another game but a brand new evolution to the franchise that's how serious this game is.

I can't wait for ya'll too play it and see what i mean

Sorry but I don't give a shit about SC.I've played the demo of the first one and the full version of the second one and personally SC is boring compared to MGS.

More likeable lead, far better stories (I like the weird and unrealistic stories mixed with reality) more fun gameplay better characters (good guys are mostly loveable and the villains never actually make you dislike them), far better cutscenes (though admittedly they can at times have too much dialogue) and tons of easter eggs to me makes MGS shit all over SC.

I personally think the way Coviction is going to tell its story is going to benefit it. On-the-fly story telling didn't make Bioshock or Half Life 2 any less good, that's for sure
