Nothing But Shooters "fondly" pays homage to a couple annoying final boss battles from this gaming generation and explains why they're likely to cause some to leave controller shaped dents in their walls.

You have a brand new game that you can’t seem to tear yourself away from and you were having an absolute blast… until you became stuck on a frustrating boss battle that’s preventing you from moving on to the next level or completing the campaign. It’s driving you insane and you want to break your controller in half, but damn it, you’re not putting it down until you finally get past the bugger, even if takes you all night.

We’ve all been there. Here are a couple of examples of irritating boss battles I have encountered during this generation; ones that really stick out in my mind where the controller nearly wound up going through my television screen.

I dunno, I think Dynal in FOSSIL FIGHTERS was a hair puller, along with Doctor Brain Guy and Meatenstein from 'Splosion man.

Haha, it just had to be bosses from games many people avoided because...they were terrible. I found the father in the last chapter of Ninja Blade to be annoying as hell, least in his stone form...good god, had to fight him twice and above all that, it takes forever to deplete his HP.

Another annoying boss battle (in the beginning at least) is Seth of Street Fighter IV. Easy for some characters, a downright b- for others. I literally played against him 60 times with Dhalsim trying to win. -_-

Seth was definitely tough -- once I got the hang of him and my character though, I beat him once on hardest on my second try, and once on normal on my first try, that time with a character I wasn't very familiar with.

I found Dhalsim to be the most difficult to fight him with -- conversely I fought him about 20 times on easiest.
Course I absolutely suck with him...

I dunno...Elizabeth Greene in Prototype on Hard was the equivalent of getting your teeth pulled without anesthesia. That bitch took 2 hours to kill. It can be done in less, I know, but I didn't want to have to do it all over again so I was being cautious. There was nothing fun about that fight. Nothing epic whatsoever.

most of the bosses in Prinny were unnecessarily difficult.

also the last boss on ninja giaden 2 looked ridiculous (watched someone play it)

I'm sorry, did anyone actually play those games?

I'd go General Raam. With AI partners he's unbeatable.

Speaking of Raam, I need to give GoW another runthrough.

Yeah, tell me about it. I remember the last time I went up against him [alone] I had a Sharpshooter and a Lancer. No Torque Bow. I was *bleep*ed. I quit.

General Raam was so hard to beat. My first playthrough I had trouble with him on the medium difficulty. I don't think he would be as hard now since I know what to do. The earth golem in Enchanted Arms was horrible too. It took me like an hour to fight him because of his defense. I hated that entire hour spent, let alone the 30 hours I put into the game to only be at 80% completion.
