With game delays, few exclusives, and a heavily 3rd party dependent line-up, gorillajumpers.com asks "Can the PS3 Slim save Sony's holiday season?". Uncharted 2 and Ratchet have a lot of heavy lifting to do this year.

That is the question isn't it. I'm thrilled that the PS3 console has finally hit the $300.00 mark, and is not only still sporting a great blu-ray player but a 120gig hard drive as well. I'm not so thrilled that I have to wait to play the Sony exclusives I was looking forward to till 2010.

As if it really needs to "be saved." Alarmist journalism is not the way to go.

That's how it's always been this gen. Unfortunately.

And sadly, bad, gloom and doom news spreads a LOT faster than good news.

Although it definitely doesn't need saving, I do think the slim will help out a lot. I know that a few of my friends are finally thinking about getting the PS3 after the price drop. They already wanted one for MAG anyway, so this should be a great time for sales.

I really don't see how it could help the PS3 out . . . The price of it and the regular PS3 is the same. So really the only relevant question would be "Will the Price Cut Help Sony this Holiday Season?" To which the answer is obviously yes, since it's common knowledge that products sell more at a less expensive price. Sheesh...

Whats going to help it is the price drop.

If the slim was released at the same price, then no it wouldn't help all that much.
