PS3 Slim: What effect will it have?

RatedG4Gamer's Simon, takes look at how the recent news of the new Playstation 3 Slim may effect the gaming market. Will we see an increase in PS3 units sold? time will tell.

Announced last night at Gamescom in Germany was the new PlayStation 3 model - slimmer & cheaper, the console has had the media in a frenzy. The long-rumoured model was showcased at the Sony conference on the 18th August just prior to the opening of Gamescom 2009 after a couple of weeks of leaks from retail stores and " insiders" within the industry. After finally being shown to the public, how will this affect you as a gamer, and how will it affect the industry?

    Perhaps it won't have much effect in the baron wasteland of Australia perhaps include what it make effect in the gaming paradise of Japan, Europe and America. Those are the only regions console manufacturers and developers really care about. A few extra sales of PS3 in Australia isn't going to do much to Sony's profits, Sony is expecting this Slim to change the face of the market in the bigger regions.
