The original Resident Evil: Outbreak series might not have been a huge success due to the Playstation's online gaming service only being in it's baby stage when the games were first released. But with online gaming now being far more mainstream, many fans believe that Capcom should revive the series. Members of Capcom-Unity have created a campaign to bring Resident Evil: Outbreak to next-gen consoles.

Members of Capcom-Unity have created a campaign to bring Resident Evil: Outbreak to modern consoles. The fans either want a port/remake or a completely new sequel to the Outbreak series. There’s a multitude of links to petitions and even avatar and signature images to help promote the cause further. Resident Evil 5 was all about partners and teamwork but a modern Outbreak would be fantastic. Something along the lines of a more serious and scary Left 4 Dead would be great. So check out the thread and give them your support.

Sounds good to me. I wonder if Capcom would stick to what makes zombie era Resident Evil so good and creepy, or will they just create a squad based online FPS to rival the likes of Left 4 Dead and Killing Floor.

Oh! I hated the third stage of Outbreak! That worm/maggot monster always freaked the hell out of me and I just couldn't bear to continue playing, having it chasing my character around everywhere. The game would have been more bearable had online functionality been accessible, within Australia.

    Sadly, it was not.
