Wishlist of Nintendo updates

Resumeplay's Michael Perry compiles a list of updates he would like to see Nintendo use to help their ever growing consoles sell more. Check the site for the full list.

Everyone knows that Nintendo is winning this competition (in shear numbers) but those seem to be dropping off in the last couple of months. I’m hear to propose a list of things they should do that would help build their numbers up and start appealing to the hardcore crowd again. Now before you start to bombard me with hateful comments, all this article is is a wish list of things that I (myself, me, not the other staff members) would want to see Nintendo do so I have a reason to turn it on again, but I also understand that Nintendo cannot find the computer that they once used to develop hardcore games on because it’s blocked by the wall of money in their offices.

    Uh, they DO need DSi VC.

    Non-proprietary microphones would also be welcome.

    The friendslist thing would be useful.

    And we do NOT need stupid Achievements. "Look at me guys, I did something hard and all I got was this icon to show for it!"

      Yeah,they should do a DSi VC,maybe that would convince me to buy a DSi .

      VC on DSi would have to be the Gameboy games mainly. it could handle up to SNES though, but would be hard pressed on N64 games.

        They couldn't do N64 games on the DSi,not enough buttons. But they could do more than just GB and SNES,they could do genesis,NES,and pretty much every other 8 or 16-bit system on the wii's VC.

      But it boosts sales for games. And it sets goals for players.

    The VC thing reminded me of IGN's idea, having a catalog of games on previous handhelds. Would love to play Columns on the DSi.

    The price of the system can be combined with the bundle idea. Lower the current SKU to about $200, and then package in one of their top selling games (Super Mario Galaxy, Smash Bros., Mario Kart, etc) for $230-50. Nintendo will still make a hell of a profit.
