The Knights of Gaming gives us their thoughts on where they think the Halo Franchise is going. Also what to expect from Microsoft in the coming years.

Halo Wars was a test bed for Microsoft. Once it sold a million copies. Microsoft knew that they could turn the franchise into different genre brands. They also knew that they couldn't sell Halo 3: ODST for the “budget price” of a expansion that they spoke of at E3 2008 because Halo Wars sold so well.

Just watch, Master Chief is going to take his helmet off in the next Halo game and it's going to be Mario's face. That's exactly where the franchise is going.

Bungie really needs to stop developing the hell out Halo. Bungie has the potential to create other really good shooter games. Please, for the love of all that is good, STOP WITH THE HALO GAMES.

That's really funny. If it was Mario's face it would shock the world.

More like Samus. Isn't the entire Halo story a retelling of Metroid?

I agree, Bungie has obviously shown interest in breaking away from the Halo series, and in seperating from Microsoft they have allowed a bit more leeway in terms of what they develop. Of course right now they're still making Halo, but after ODST is eventually out, I can imagine they'll move onto other things.

If they don't, and they continue to milk the Halo franchise...well, what're ya gonna do?

After ODST is out they'll start working on Halo: Reach more, then they'll probably announce ANOTHER Halo.

      It's a never ending loop =|

I'm not saying continuing with Halo is a terrible idea, I just think Bungie has the potential to make great games outside that franchise.
