A refresher on everything thats known so far and when to expect more info from Konami, as well as the author's two pence on what's possibly around the corner next for Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.

Announced in the wake of Metal Gear Solid: Rising, Peace walker is the canonical sequel to PSP’s Portable Ops. It moves on four years from the events at the San Hieronymo Peninsula to 1974. Now more grizzly than ever, Big Boss is in Costa Rica as the head of a mercenary group called ‘Militaires Sans Frontières’. A french translation of ‘Military without borders’. As Costa Rica had no military at the time, it was seen as easy pickings. An uknown military power takes over, and it’s up to Big Boss to save the day.

Dude, you need to see the vids. The 2-4 player co-op has so many insane features. It's like in every MGS they bring something new to the table.

Hm I'll go check them out then.

        *Edit*
Holy shit...yep, definitely getting a PSP soon. The Co-Op features are awesome. It reminds me a bit of Army of Two, heh.

I have seen the first trailer, where they show off more than one Snake, but I wasn't sure if that was Co-Op or the use of AI-controlled characters.

Meh i hate multiplayer games on the PSP nowadays because it's all AD-Hoc online meaning i can only connect to people near me, pisses me off tbh, the DS can play multiplayer all around the world, WHY THE HELL CAN'T MY PSP? =|

Portable Ops used WiFi infastracture, meaning it let you play online like a regular PS3/Xbox360/DS (Only better than the DS in terms of connectivity). MGS doesn't do AD hoc, it's Monster Hunter that commits that oh so deadly sin (Unless you use AD Hoc party on your PS3, but that's only available in Japan/Korea. Cause Sony are selfish like that.)

Oh really? I didn't know Portable Ops had Wifi, so i can look forward to Wifi on Peacewalker then? Caus that'd be great.

It's also Final Fantasy: Dissidia which only uses Ad-hoc, it's really really annoying as Wifi could make that game so much better.

Most likely yes. FF: Dissidia uses AD Hoc party as well.
