BSmith from Theplaystationshow.com was surprised about the candor surrounding Operation Flashpoint in his favorite gaming magazines. Even more surprised on how these magazines 'bashed' the game, saying it needs more work. Unusual to say the least. Most gaming magazines seem to take the other approach and sing praises of ALL games in previews.

Did my monthly pass through my Official Playstation Magazine, and I was greeted with one relative surprise, and one thing that should surprise no one. First for the surprise, I mentioned this on the last show, I was reading a copy of Gamer Informer that one of my coworkers brought in, and got to their preview of Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising. Their preview ended with a statement that said something along the lines of, boy this game has a long way to go in terms of polish, and frankly the initial movies released by the company were just plain misleading. You got the distinct flavor that, hey, hold off before you get excited, this game screams failure.
