ResumePlay's Michael Perry writes about his impressions and speculations on the new 3D Mario platformer scheduled for release in 2010. Is their enough new to the sequel to make it worth anticipating? Check the site for full written details.

Super Mario Galaxy still to this day is the greatest Wii game that Nintendo can offer (in my opinion) so hearing the announcement that it is getting a direct sequel makes me extremely happy giving the fact there has never been more than one 3-D Mario platformer game per console life cycle. Super Mario Galaxy was a gorgeous game offering a creative spin on the platforming genre with tight physics, amazing level design, and one of the most beautiful worlds Mario has ever had to trek through. The announcement of Super Mario Galaxy 2 was a shock to me but I am hopeful it retains all the things that made the first Galaxy game an instant classic.

Super Mario Galaxy was pretty fun, and I myself don't doubt it's worth anticipating. The visuals alone look awesome and more earthlike than ever before.

That giant Yoshi must be used for hovering, it looks good anyways. Super Mario Galaxy was pretty average imo, but maybe, just maybe they're gonna screw it up now.

Yoshi is finally 'portant. That's all I care about.

    Orange Yoshi=Top Speed
    Light Blue Yoshi=Hover/float
    Red Yoshi=Fire Breath

Sometime early next year is what I've been told. I think they're not telling us release dates too early anymore to avoid another Smash Bros mishap.
