Spawn Kill's CuatroChihuahuas takes an in-depth look at the Brutal Legend demo. Isn't it worth the download? Will it make you hyped up for the upcoming retail release? See the full article for her full impressions on the game demo.
So the demo takes you from opening cutscene, to battle with your axe and guitar, to mowing down enemies in the Deuce, to a mini boss fight. Sounds great, right? I have to confess that the first time I played the demo, I was disappointed. Why? Well, for one, if you are like me, you probably won’t see anything you haven’t already seen in a trailer or preview video. Many of the scenes from the demo were included in trailers, and a lot of the gameplay was also previewed before. The demo also doesn’t include any of the RTS elements of the gameplay (with the headbangers), and I found that a bit of a letdown. Still, I will also admit that after playing the demo another two or three times, it grew on me. I still missed getting a chance to try out the headbanger army, but I enjoyed myself a lot more. However, honestly, if I were to judge the game based solely on this demo, I am not sure if I would pick it up. Nevertheless, knowing the bigger picture, playing the demo (especially more than once) does make me eager to see the full version.
