The PS3 has been struggling a little. The Slim release sparked new interest to the people, the gamers, and the fans. With the new low price, big games, and previously released titles, Sony has just relaunched their home console and opened the door to a new, better future.

Too bad the whole "It just does everything" doesn't apply to BC, extra USB ports or memory card readers.

"Hey, we're going to cut the price on our leading console by a $100. But, since we took out BC and now our leading console won't play our massive back catalog, you can spend that $100 on a PS2."

Thanks, Sony. Way to go about doing everything...

To be fair, a large number of people buying PS3s already own PS2s.

Yeah, but I don't wanna hook up my PS2 and PS3. For the same reason I don't have my standard def. television next to my new HDTV.

Well you'll just have to buy them all back on the PSnetwork. Hmpmh.

You're saying that as if Sony is the only company in the world using false advertising

No, what you would be talking about would be a blanket statement. This was clearly directed at the subject of the article. All company's falsely advertise, it just happens. But my point is, the newer consoles DON'T do EVERYTHING. In fact, they have limited how much the console can do. What if that same mindset had been used in regards to when the PS2 came out and didn't have BC for PS1? People would have been really pissed. Seproth is right; if I can have one less plug and one fewer AV cable set, then that sounds good.

I just wanted to point out the hypocrisy of dropping the price on the console and leaving out a huge feature.

I love my ps2 games. But the time I spend playing ps3 games compared to ps2 games is staggering. I wouldnt mind hooking up my ps2 every blue moon when I want to go play some FF.
