ResumePlay's Andi Bailey Discusses the online features of Demon's Souls and how this mode of the game does not feel like most other online games. Check the site to read the full article.

As far as I’m concerned, video games will always be about immersion. You can throw score multipliers at me and I’ll have a good time, but if you hook me and make me feel like a part of the world you’ve created, I’ll have an experience I may very well carry with me for the rest of my life. This concept is especially true for RPGs.

Hurm, he brings up some good points, but he will change his opinion once he is on his second playthrough, unless they really lessoned the difficulty for the NA release. You will get to the point where you will lament not seeing anyone's soul sign so you can summon another player to help you... Could also be that the game just launched, and will take players a while (again unless this was changed from the Hong Kong Imprt version I played) to get the stones needed to become red or blue phantoms in order to experience the multiplayer component.

I've been ploughing at this game since release (Japan) and I've never enjoyed an RPG so much. Truly brilliant, but if you think it's harsh that Americans have so few people to summon. Try having a total language barrier & lack of players.
