A Rant On Bosses: Final Fantasy & Shank

It probably shouldn't come as a surprise that every game with high praise eventually brings out the "is this game overhyped?" topics. It has Batman: Arkham Asylum and Halo 3 and now it's happening with Uncharted 2.
So is Uncharted 2 overhyped? Go to the source to find out why nanasparadox.com thinks it is...
As the first level loaded in I was absolutely brimming with excitement and the opening cinematic certainly doesn’t disappoint, but what followed I have to say did leave me feeling a little bit underwhelmed.

Sometimes it's frustrating trying to find where the hell to go since most of the time the ledges and things blend right in with the environment. Other than that and a few annoying parts where your insta-gibbed by like 5 regular guys, three heavy armor guys with shotguns, and a guy with the hammer I really enjoyed the game and I really cant wait for Uncharted 3, already.
At least I'll have multiplayer to keep me occupied.
Where do these attention craving spawns of hell keep popping out from???
If you have your head up your *bleep*ing asshole. The combat is excellent. The story is amazing. The voice overs are spot on. The characters are likable and there are a lot more than the first. The environments are awesome. The graphics, I swear to God, are lifelike. The stealth is fun.
I haven't tested the online yet, but I heard it's amazing with over 27 years already played online with the DEMO ALONE. The only thing that I wish was done differently was the cover system, which is also sweet. No longer are you able to duck out from the side of cover, unless you are against a wall. The box thing was what got me. It's fine, though, the run and gun aspect makes up for it.

This guy is a moron. The *only* problem I have is sticking to cover or sticking to the wrong side of my cover in multiplayer, and *maybe* the killing each other with melee blows, which is kind of funny but frustrating as well.
*Awaits a retard to misunderstand the post and defend the game unnecessarily*
*lame attempt at humor*
But Uncharted 2 does look quite deserving of it's high reviews.
First Batman: AA get's labelled as overrated, then Halo: ODST and now Uncharted 2, Seriously, shut the hell up and play the goddamn game.
Only game i can think of that has been overrated so far this gen is fricken GTA:IV
I find it funny when a lot of reveiw sites over hype a game and when it's released it turns out shit, but nobody ever says anything about them being over hyped do they?
and as for nanasparadox.com... *bleep* you.
Plz do not go mental at me for what i have said as i am only expressing my opinion and im not saying thats how everyone feels.
*(waits for fanboys to stop moaning)*
I'm not saying that this game is bad, it's actually extremely good. I might even consider it one of the best games I've seen all summer but can you really sit there and tell me that it's 10/10? a perfect game?. The game has 96% overall on metacritic with 10/10 from multiple different reviewers. Do you really think that this is the perfect game in every way? that this game has little to no issues or problems? I havn't played the multiplayer so I can't comment on that but even though I don't agree with much of what the guy in the article said I have to agree with him and say that I was underwhelmed.
I felt the first scene where you climb up the train was pretty awesome, it gets you straight into the action and is visually stunning but shortly after that the story gets so un-linear that you actually have no idea at what point in time the train was and at what point of time you are in the game. I think that because of that the story lacks a bit at the start but after a while it all falls into place. I didn't really care about the way the story was told that much as it seemed to get alot more interesting after you get back to the point where you're on the train but that wasn't my main concern.
The first time I saw my friend jump from a high place in the museum everyone in the house actually started laughing out loud. Drake dropped about 20+ foot and just landed perfectly on both feet and kept walking as if nothing had happened, he didn't even take any fall damage. It wasn't long after that, that we got into fighting enemies and that was even worse. The fighting isn't really that bad it's actually pretty good for the kind of game that it is but visually it just looks stupid. The animations just look clumsy and some of the moves are rediculous, I'm not even sure what happens with one of the moves. It looks like Drake slaps the enemy on the back of the head whilst jumping but somehow it just knocks them unconscious in one it. I also found the boss fight on the train underwhelming. The fighting is so realistic up until that boss where he seems to just take bullets like they're nothing then when you finally go to kill him with melle Drake just gives him a gay little tap on the head and he falls over.
The game was also way to easy in my opinion. All I've seen is hard mode but it was pretty easy so I could imagine it being difficult to die even if you tried on easy. Also the story is pretty short and could probably be completed in one sitting, obviously there's a great ammount of replay value because of the online multiplayer but the story is just a bit short in my opinion.
None of these problems really stop this game from being really good put they definatly pull it down from being a 10/10 game. At the moment I'd give it about 8/10, maybe once I've seen the entire game and played the multi-player that might change to 9/10 but the things above that i mentioned just pull it down too far to be a perfect 10/10 which is why I feel it's over-rated. This will always happen though, these types of game will always be over-rated and it's simple why; it's exclusive to only 1 console. Any big title that is exclusive to 1 console whether it be wii, ps3 or xbox will always get over-rated because the internet is filled with fanboys for one or the other, hardly anyone can actually say that they like every console equally and is biased in no way. Until one of the consoles stop being produced or flops due to not making any sales (most likely neither of these things are ever going to happen) there will always be fanboys and 1 console exclusive games will always be over-rated by them.
This guy must have had ASTRONOMICAL expectations of this game if he was "pretty underwhelmed by the whole game." I watched every moment of the story, and I can easily say this game deserves every last scrap of praise that it gets.
Then writes a blog post to back up their claim. And GameGrep dies a little more inside.
I'll let you know when, or rather if, it comes.
edit- No, it's not overrated. It's not without it's faults though.
