Awesome Video Game Characters That Are Jerks

This is a little humor piece written by Nathan Grabowski from resumeplay that centers around bada** characters who are complete a**holes. Check the site to see if your favorite video game character is on the list.

The videogame industy has been saturated with a variety of well known characters, from annoying to cream-your-pants awesome. However, the most memorable characters are often the ones that you despise, yet can’t help but admit are badass. There is just something about the dynamic that compliments one another, like prepubecent teens and anime. This list, on behalf of Resumeplay and myself, presents to you five badass videogame characters who are clearly assholes.

    Should have had Sackboy himself. I mean come on, about the only interaction you can have with other character is grabbing them, dragging them and punching them. If Sackboy isn't an asshole himself he's the perfect tool to be one.

    What?! Sweet Tooth didn't make the list because...he's not a traditional badass? WTF?! He's appeared in 6 Twisted Metal tournaments (3 of them being less than worth mentioning), drives a kiddie ice-cream truck that transforms into a raging clown spewing 40+ homing rockets, kills people because its fun, has a flaming head because of his sins, and wears a decrepit clown mask. Whats NOT badass about that!?

    Oh, and Kain from LOK was not on that list anywhere because....?

      this is not a list of badass characters, its a list of asshole characters. big difference.

      and yeah, Kain really should have been in there. he's a pretty massive asshole. though he isnt as well known as the other guys on that list however.

        Read the article. He mentions Sweet Tooth's asshole-ness but completely disregards the fact that he is a serious badass.

        But Sephiroth has gotten way too much attention lately. Kinda diminishes what I used to think of him back when I first played FFVII.

          the only badass clown is Joker. i never liked Sweet Tooth in TM games. i was all about Axel, the dude with 2 huge tires on his arms. now theres a badass!!

          But Axel isn't a jerk.

          Sweet Tooth is. Thats what the debate here is about. But the Joker wasn't up there either. And he's definitely not as badass as Sweet Tooth. More of a jerk, yes, but not badass.

    good list. however, yeah Kratos is an asshole, but he was sort of forced to be, since after he accidentally killed his family he sort of lost his mind and went nuts. so i would argue that he's borderline insane and if i was a judge sentencing him for his crimes, i would likely put him in a mental institution rather than Death Row.

    If I were a judge, I'd sentence Kratos to immediate death. No way I'm taking chances with that guy around. On multiple occasions, he's killed people with this bare hands. Too dangerous.

    And you know what? Sentencing him to death would be pointless, because he'd just fight his way out of hell back to us.
