Dragon Age: Origins isn't the perfect RPG

Dragon Age: Origins will no doubt win the Best RPG of 2009 race hands down, but while it is a very good RPG, it is far from perfect. Along with the lack of multiplayer mode are several other key problems that will hold Dragon Age: Origins back from any "Best RPG Ever Ever Ever" award.

The tactics system is frustrating. It certainly makes no sense that Wynne and Morrigan -- smart enough to master magic -- aren't smart enough to master more than a few simple commands, and at that, they must spend skills to increase this relatively simple feat.

      Thumbs up man...MP has no place in this kind of RPG, imo. It'd be like putting MP in Mass Effect.

        Though to be honest MP in Mass Effect in some capacity works as it is heavily centered around 3rd person shooting. It could be highly probable that Deathmatch game modes and Team Deathmatch would work for a game like Mass Effect which is as much Action as it is RPG.

          No..Just no. Deathmatch or any other form of MP in Mass Effect would completely destroy what it is. RPGs should never have MP in them, it just ruins the games.

    Oh no, it seems yet another game is being overly criticized for being good!

    Why can't good games be good and just leave it at that?

    I mean yeah, there are some stupid ass people out there but come on this is ridiculous.

    Firstly, I'd like to think Demon's Souls isn't so bad that the next shiny thing to come out can completely knock it out of the running for RPG of the year, as arbitrary and stupid as those awards may be.

    Multiplayer??? In Dragon Age? Get the *bleep* outta here. There's HOURS upon HOURS of dialogues and exploration. Pretty sure your partners would be bored to death with all the talking Player 1 is going to be doing.
