This is an opinion piece by Andrew over at PlanetXbox360.com regarding Microsoft's attempt to give more features to gamers on it's Xbox LIVE service, pushing them over the top of Sony's PSN offering.

On November 17th, Microsoft released a new update on Xbox Live that allows all of us to have a new amount of latitude from the convenience of our Xbox 360's. After bringing us the convenience of Netflix with the last update, this new update gives users the ability to Tweet, access Facebook and listen to music from Last.fm all through LIVE. I bet you don't realize just what sort of stroke of genius this was on the part of Microsoft and how it will help push LIVE past Sony's online offerings.

Most people have a laptop or PC so facebook and twitter on xbox is just a minor convenience. Most people don't really care about it.

I don't really think Twitter and Facebook are really going to effect either side, not to mention that Sony are now following suit and adding Facebook functionality to PSN themselves.

He's absolutely right, oh wait I don't use Facebook or Twitter since I do not like social networking sites.

Now if one intergrated Neoseeker THEN we're talking. Till which point, shut your gob author!

Yeah, Microsoft would sell a ton more 360s if they just added a Neoseeker app.

PSN already had Twitter capability given it's got a web browser. If anything, Xbox have done a half-arsed job with Twitter, because what fun is Twitter when you can't look at any links people send you?
