Not everything. I mean, you can't go wrong with...ice cream.

It's good for replayability, that's what I like about the achievements/trophies. Granted, some people are obsessed with them and pick up games just for the achievements/trophies, but eh, that's their choice. They even set up "competitions" with other members to see who can get to a certain ranking over a period of time.

Don't be silly. Head rushes are just defragments for the brain. Humanity needs them. Ice Cream's perfick.

I don't play much ps3 but for me achievements are a great thing. I love getting every achievement in games and seeing 1000/1000 next to the games on my tag. Achievements have made me play so many games that I might not have played and made me play all my games for much longer which is why I like them.

I can't see how they can be a bad thing.

I don't class myself as a Gamerwhore, its more the RPG whore that makes me go for 100%'s... achievements are just recognisition and proof that you've pretty much mastered whatever game you've 1000'd.

What ANOTHER achievements/trophy good or bad? article?

God, I was gonna rant on how there entirely optional and don't affect gameplay and can make games funner by challenging you and give you a better sense of accomplishment but that would just be wasting my time now would it?

It gives me a reason to go and play on the hardest difficulty. Take Dead Space for example. I would have just said to hell with it, but that last trophy before Platinum was very tempting. So I bit my tongue and did it. It just gives players an incentive to go further in their game and play/try all that it has to offer. I think they are great.

But, as I've noticed in myself, one could get carried away with it. I think I'm turning into a TrophyWhore too. Oops.

Lots of games I have get extended replay value for me just because of achievements.

There are certain ways they can be bad though. They can ruin the game experience sometimes which is why I think they really should setup guidelines for coming up with them. Developers seem to just put anything they can pull out of their ass and reward gamerpoints for it not putting any consideration as to how it can negatively affect the experience.
