Allegedly Speaking examines Activisions intentions of saturating the marketplace with it's most powerful franchises to point of over exposure. Will 2010 be the year of pay to play Call of Duty. If Activision has it's way it will be.
Activision hates you. Do not feel bad, persecuted, or alone, in truth Activision hates all of us. While it seems like an outrageous claim it is also very difficult to argue against. From the tiny tyrant Activision calls it's CEO right down to it's most esteemed developers like Infinity Ward, Activision seems hell bent on not only sodomizing our games but our wallets as well.

Awesome writer...
And to think, ten years ago or so, Activision seemed so cool to me. So much for "vision".
Why can't they just be bought out by EA (or someone) and liquidated?
I mean they have other games out there, even IPs, and let's face it, most are pretty well done. Prototype was a decent game, but we haven't heard anything about a sequel. Wolfenstein got great ratings and had some pretty innovative play for a shooter, yet it went unnoticed by the community -- so that sold poorly. Singularity is going to be an FPS using time manipulation, but you know people aren't even going to look at it when it's out.
While I'm not fond of the publisher's practices, gamers need to take some responsibility for letting them get away with it. Failed MW2 boycott, anyone? Those big names sell well, so Activision has no reason to put efforts into budding franchises.
Not all their games are bad, but they have progressively gotten worse over the years, in terms of marketing decisions, quality, etc.
I think they have potentially great games, but they don't even bother marketing them properly, in favor of selling more CoD or Hero games.
Other than those two series, and Prototype, I really don't see too many games from them around.
