Gamersworldbd writes an article regarding the hype surrounding Bayonetta, and how they simply can't get why Bayonetta made gamers tick. Are they the only one who think that Bayonetta is over-hyped?

Am I the only one who thinks that Bayonetta is over-hyped? Well, Famitsu (the Japanese Gaming Mag) gave it a perfect 40 out of 40. The PS3 version sold 135,000 copies and was the top-selling game during its week of release in Japan, while the Xbox version sold 64,000 copies and charted at number seven. Can’t argue with close to 200,000 gamers, and in the first week alone.

I just saw a TV ad for the demo of this. Wow, serious hype, and her head and body proportions looked bloody freakish on a full size TV.

Over-hyped? Yes, but that does not mean that it's a bad game. I played the demo and was pleasantly surprised at how smooth the game works, its combo system is great; far better and more creative than Devil May Cry has to offer.

Think about Uncharted 2; it was extremely hyped up. You couldn't go anywhere without hearing something about it. But the game came out, and whattyaknow, it was actually bad-ass.

That being said, it won't be a day one purchase for me, if I see it for $20 or so, I'll get it. Money is tight and there are other games that I am far more interested in.

The demo was good so at the moment I'm saying it's not overhyped but I'll have to wait until I get the full game to know if it's really that good.

The demo was good, but from what I experienced, I wouldn't say it's going to rewrite the rules of hack n' slashers like the hype has been building it up to be.

And yes, the body proportions are actually quite noticable once you play it.

I don't know? What is all the hype about?

Demo was fun, has potential for sure, but if this sensationalist bullshit keeps continuing everyone is going to be letdown by this game because it's being made out to be so earth shattering.

Why can't it just be considered a good game on par with the best of the genre, your DMCs and GOWs, and that just be enough for people? Everything has to be better than.

I always wonder the same thing. It's like half the developers of this generation have an inferiority complex, and feel compelled to over-brag about their games to justify themselves. After a while you just learn to tune out all the BS.
