While new games come - and go, it is great to see more and more effort being placed on newer IP's to make them stand out from the rest. Such could be the case for Platinum Game's new title, Vanquish.

While some will claim it to be a Halo-Rip-Off, it seems more like something from a more realistic time frame, around the period with Ironman.

If we check out the suit, it's much more Ironman than Halo, that's for sure.

Platinum Game, the guys that brought you the great games such as Bayonetta, Mad World, Infinite Space have teamed with SEGA to bring you a new futuristic warfare game – Vanquish. While no specific platforms have been mentioned yet, but you can basically bank on it appearing across most platforms that will be able to deal with the game’s engine and visuals.

That being of course the PS3, 360 and PC, all of which would be my best bet at this time. Perhaps with a knock-down version for the Wii along the lines of say Mad World . . ?

Not a great deal is know officially about the game just yet, but they have just released this teaser and it looks promising. It’s a combination of CGI and some in-game shots, giving you a rough run-down of some events leading up to the deployment of the fighting team to help”Vanquish” the opposing forces.

Yes, it looks ’slightly’ Halo-ish, but it definitely has a much more modern and realistic tone to it. Vanquish is being created by the one and only Shinji Mikami, better known for his excellent Resident Evil survival horror series we all love, or hate.

It's early days yet, but if it follows the Resi style and more polished game style, then this could be a brilliant game.

But you watch the Halo-fans go ape over it, saying that it's just a copy of Halo - which it certainly is not. The only 'similarity' is that the guy/s wear a full suit or armour, but this suit is bolted on, unlike Master Chiefs.
