Legendary ring announcer, Jim Ross, blogged about not being able to take part in the next installment of the SmackDown vs Raw series after suffering from Bells palsy #3. A long time commentator, Jim Ross has been hailed as the WWE's iconic announcer who adds color to every match he calls.

It would truly be different to have a game without this man calling the matches.

Because of being on the sideline w/ Bells palsy #3, I unfortunately will not be a part of this fall's THQ/WWE video game. Bummer....and costly for the old wallet. That removed some of the cheese from my whopper.

I haven't watched wrestling for nearly a decade now (2001 last time) and haven't bought a wrestling game since Here Comes the Pain so I'm first off impressed Jim Ross has remained such a prominent announcer since then and secondly I think this is a huge loss for WWE but that said I don't know who else commentates these days so there could be a up & coming FNG I've not heard of.

Haha this is true. Most of the lines are pretty much the same things. This sucks though, 2011 was supposed to be a big change in the series, too bad good ol' JR won't be a part of it.

I guess this could be a part of those big changes unfortunately.
