This is an article from gaming website PlanetXbox360.com looking at whether or not Xbox 360 owners would want to play a Playstation 3 exclusive title known as MAG - which features large-scaled multiplayer battles with no single-player mode.

Well, congratulations Playstation 3 owners, MAG has finally been out for a bit and admittedly, I’m still not sure how I feel about it. The prospect of games totaling 256 players is intriguing, but should we as 360 owners catch a case of the Green-Eyed Monster and feel some kind of envy? The short answer is no, at least for now.

Pretty much, the online community is all that shooters have. People aren't playing the COD series years after the release for the amazing storyline.

Before I throw up a little I should note that I don't think the storyline is amazing, I was just being sarcastic. Oh god, breathe, alright I think I'm ok.

Why should we even listen to a site that names themselves after a console? It's like a stamp of bias.

Well to be fair, the main reason is the apparent immaturity of most of Live's users who refuse to use any form of strategy or brains.

Though yeah, the title is pretty poorly phrased. You can't not want what you can't have.

I love how they just sum up their excuse to dis MAG in 2 very generalizing statements: "Anyone who has played online will be well aware of the quality of teammates met randomly. Unfortunately, this immediately rules out a significant amount of the objective based combat that MAG revolves around."

Seriously? MAG won't be fun because the kids on XBox live are all 11-year-old mic spammers and people who have no idea what they're doing? I think they just made fun of their own online community. If this were true 100% of the time, then wouldn't this also apply to Gears of War and Left 4 Dead (Which were both mentioned in the article as being superior to MAG)? I mean, sure, sometimes you'll get stuck with a really terrible team, but that doesn't mean they won't be able to figure out how to play the game. Even the lousiest of gamers know the difference between deathmatch and control points... If anything, having more teammates will only increase the likelihood that you will have a significant number of teammates who know what they are doing.

And they're saying this like AI these days are so much more intelligent than human beings. They're not. AI sucks. And focus on online play in games this generation are making developers even lazier in their AI development.

tl;dr, They're making excuses to say people shouldn't buy PS3s for MAG because they know it's a good game.

You're going to find jackasses and idiots regardless of which console have. Having been on both, I know this is a fact.

You will even meet people who don't quite understand the concept of objective based games and just go off shooting at anything that moves without helping anyone on their team in both. They're occasional though, but on average I've found people on Live to be more aggressive in how they play.

360 fanboys just cant admit that MAG is awesome, so they will find comments to bash it down. Sad individuals...

Well, I want MAG on my Xbox. This whole console exclusivity doesn't help the industry at all.

I have to disagree with you both there. Usually exclusivity is due to one side or the other paying extra (more commonly Msoft) to a dev so they can spend more money on the game and make it better than it was going to be (Bioshock, Mass Effect, I think the Fallout DLCs *may* fall under this category too, JRPGs (better is an objective term, remember )). This usually ends in ports. And as for the common reason as to why there are PS3 exclusives, that would be devs opting for blu-ray in order to make games bigger (certainly the cases with games like MGS4, though I can't say whether that's the case with MAG, since I haven't really looked up much about it, though the nature of the game makes it seem likely). Then of course there's the whole first party games, which are reasonable I guess. The point is without exclusivity many games wouldn't be as good as they are today.

Don't get me wrong though, I hate it as much as everyone else. I was bummed for about two weeks when I found out I wouldn't be able to get Mass Effect. It's just the way it is.
