2D is going to bring back the retro gaming to where it was once before that is stardom. Sonic 4 is the first title to bring back the old school by bringing it to the new era of gaming.

In the early 1990s, the Sonic the Hedgehog series was such a force that it propelled Sega to a level of prominence that it had not even dreamt of and unfortunately still tries to return to today. The much maligned Sega has redeemed itself lately by publishing titles such as Bayonetta and others but the Sonic franchise is trying to polish its tarnished name which has degraded slowly over time.

    Uh no.

The DS ones did that. Plus the Sonic Advance games. And Sonic Unleashed had some neat Sidescrolling moments.

Plenty of games are still in 2D, plenty of them are sidescrolling platformers, and I'd happily wager that plenty of them will also be better than 'Sonic 4'.

Besides that I think more focus should be on whether SonicTeam can even make a good game anymore as opposed to whether they can make2D 'cool again'.

It never wasn't popular. Everyone's wanted a 2D for a long time. This isn't anything new.

It's funny looking across lots of people opinions across lots of forums. Most of them disapprove of this game, yet think 'Splosion Man was brilliant. SM was 2D and a side-scroller and quite frankly, it was terrible - Sonic as back to being 2D and a side-scroller and people say it will be garbage before it's even release. I don't understand.
