Binge Gamer's James Walker gives a brief analysis of Bobby Kotick's DICE 2010 speech, in which Kotick laments on how he saved Activision, how he waited far too long to buy out Vivendi Entertainment and his backhanded way of admitting that letting the 'Tony Hawk' series slip away from Neversoft.

I’ve never been a fan of Bobby Kotick. In fact, I’ve gone on record as saying that Bobby Kotick is the Devil for turning Activision into EA circa-2003. But know that I don’t have anything personal against the guy. I just really, really disagree with Activision’s business strategy.
At DICE, Kotick took the stage and talked for a good half-hour about a wide range of topics, including why Kotick wanted to get into the gaming industry, why he doesn’t actually play games and looks back at some of his missed calls. All in all, it’s a fascinating presentation and it does a whole hell of a lot to “humanize” him. At the same time, he also said some things that made one’s brow arch. I will go through these comments, many of which you’ve probably read on other sites, and give my own opinion on them.
