GFB raises an interesting question based on the recent "error code 8001050f" that many owners of older PS3s started getting yesterday. Will this error, if prolonged, affect the sales of Final Fantasy XIII on PS3?

Sony has one week to get their stuff straight. While it's very likely that the recent issue with the Playstation Network and older PS3s (PS3 fats) will be resolved well before next week. It begs one important question. Will this affect Final Fantasy XIII sales?

If it is prolonged for about a week, yeah. If not, then no. Besides, most people only own one console, so whatever one they ahve they're gonna get it for that one. Its not like, "oh gee, my PS3 shit the bed and might not be back up for a few days. lets go spend $200 on a 360, and another $60 on FFXIII so i can play it a few days sooner"...

This bug is an issue, but it hasn't become a problem yet. 2-3 days is a problem. Its only been about 19 hours...

But you don't get it dude! I can't play my games! I will probably only live another 8-10 hours! This is a fiasco!

The answer is....no. It won't affect anything. Yes, this was a big problem, but it wont affect sales. This problem could happen on any gaming system out there. Dont give me crap stating it will never happen on the 360. Im just saying it could.

Hahaha, God Damn! Bad news and the lengths of which shitty news organizations will go to stretch things like this just for some hits never ceases to amaze me.

I would be willing to bet this will be fixed by tonight. In fact, it might even fix itself once the PS3 believes it's March 1st once again.

I agree. The haste with which people will jump on something and just tear it to shreds is hysterical. The problem solved itself quite quickly, yet here this guy is saying that PS3s could break down en masse and would murder FFXIII sales on PS3.

      Extremist F**ks.

It will probably be fixed at midnight, since the only real issue is the current day (1st March 2010) which for some reason doesn't compute with the PS3's software. So when it searches for today's IPs for signing online, it can't find them. Since trophies require daily update, yup can't find them either. Leading to the game system that can't play games on March 1st. Lol.
