We are all disappointed in IGN's decision to fire one of their best and more intelligent editors. Explicit Gamer attempted to interview Chris Roper, unfortunately he politely declined. Despite his declining our interview, he gave Explicit Gamer a small statement in regards to his layoff.

Yesterday gaming media superpower IGN laid off several members of their editorial staff. Amongst the individuals laid off is Chris Roper (Executive Editor, IGN PlayStation). While much is still unknown about the layoffs it is common knowledge that IGN is “eliminating roles [today] in every part of the company”, according to an internal memo submitted to Joystiq.
