Go Fanboy does a nice little write up providing some history of console manufacturers redesigning their consoles late in the life-cycle of the machine to prove that while companies today may be copying, but they're not copying each other.
So as a public service, we here at Go Fanboy just wanted to give a few examples to make it very clear that while Sony is a great company that makes very competitive hardware and software to help keep the games industry fresh, they came in late (just like Microsoft) and are copycats too. Below you'll find three separate examples ranging from Atari to Nintendo to Sega. All three made "Slims" of their own in excess of 25 years before the PS3 Slim.
