A fake news story was sent out that baffled a few gaming journalists and confused gamers for a bit because it almost seemed authentic and was actually a good idea. Too bad it was only an April Fool's.

Everything the press release contained actually sounded like a better game than what Section 8 was, and that’s not really an April Fool’s joke that would be heading in the right direction for a franchise that never really got off the ground running.

It is April Fools gone wrong not because people believed it, but because the game they were faking sounded so good and looked so good when they found out it was fake they wished it wasn't.
