New Challenger: 3 Reasons Why Gaming Will Destroy Itself Part 1
21 hours 40 mins ago
Recently both sides of the gaming cultures have been releasing some stellar AAA games. From the East we have games such as Final Fantasy XIII, Bayonetta, & Yakuza 3. Then in the north we have games like God Of War III, Mass Effect 2, and Heavy Rain.
But which one is doing better? Personal tastes aside, which culture is ahead of the market?
So far this year we have explored the glorious worlds of Cocoon & Pulse in Final Fantasy XIII. Took a four man squad across the globe fighting Russians, against their will, in Battlefield Bad Company 2. Explored huge galaxies in Mass Effect 2, while getting some softcore porn out if on the side. Slashed a lot of things into alot of pieces in Bayonetta, all while cringing from the sexual cringyness of it all. You maybe even stuffed the faces inside out of a few hundred Yakuza henchmen, while babysitting an orphanage no less, in Yakuza 3. More likely, however, you’ve been ripping peoples heads off and experimenting with a new breed of cinematic gameplay in God of War III & Heavy Rain. Regardless of what you’ve been doing, if you’re reading this, you have been gaming.

That is my rant... Give me a story and innovative gameplay instead of gameplay and stupid side quests...
Seriously, read up on it. It'll literally blow you're mind.
Slumpy Monkey, you should not bring up running around when trying to defend WRPGs, that is ALL that happens in them...
Seriously, what?!
You've got be kidding me. Seriously?
No, you're trolling. You have to be. That can't be what you genuinely think.
Also, In terms of game quality you can't actually say the East has better games when the West has games like Heavy Rain, God Of War III, Battlefield Bad Company 2, inFamous & etc.
Of course the west is winning. Of course the west has better games.

Business wise no they're losing in terms of national popularity & constant sales. Quality wise West is winning as they're more diverse in there games in counter to the East's near CONSTANT JRPG themes.
Again, that is not surprising, as its quite a few of nations with similar tastes vs one.
