This is a list of the top things the team at PlanetXbox360.com is looking for from the next game in the Gears of War franchise, which Cliff Bleszinski should be announcing tonight on the Jimmy Fallon show.

The saga of the COGs that has played out over the course of the last 4 years has been a wild ride as we have followed Marcus and co. above and below ground in their final stands against the Locust. After the conclusion of GoW2 it became quite obvious that we would be seeing our ragtag group of heroes once more, most likely in a stunning conclusion and the final, final…final stand of the citizens of Sera. Sure enough, our main man Cliff Bleszinski will no doubt be announcing that we won’t have to wait long to see the fall of locust or the fall of man in April 2011. The series has been phenomenal up to this point, with a few annoyances but great thrill rides nonetheless. There are a number of additions/changes that could really make the conclusion harrowing and be considered the best in the series and here at Planet Xbox 360 we have a few ideas/hopes that could make Gears of War 3 a love letter to fans. (Readers BEWARE, there are SPOILERS from GoW 1 and 2 after the link!)

No. The whole running, wallbouncing, moving was all very fluent and frankly excellent on Gears 2. If you go back to Gears 1 it feels old and stale and you don't have anywhere as much control over your character. I think they need to ensure that you spawn with more than 16 shells in your Shotgun though, that update was pretty damn shitty. But yeah, the whole 2-piecing, matchmaking, chainsaw vacuum, being paired with somebody in Taiwan thing needs to go. The Hammerburst needs to go back to being shit like in Gears 1 too.
