Tax day is upon us. Great Society parties are breaking out, alcohol establishments have a special on FDR shots, and the IRS is probably under heavy guard from Tea Party uprisings. Of course, no one likes paying taxes. Some sicko named Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes tried to convince us that taxes are our civic duty by saying, “taxes are the price we pay for a civilized society.” Well, that is stupid. Taxes may in fact be necessary, but you aren't going to convince the KFC Double Downing public with reason and an appeal to patriotism.
