While the Resident Evil series still manages to pull in sales, many fans feel that it has lost much of what made it such a popular franchise in the first place.

So how can Capcom re-invigorate the series, while also sticking to its roots? By hiring George Romero of course!

Go to the source to find out why.

George Romero (director of Dawn of the Dead and the father of zombie movies) says he'd be interested in making a game. This also coincides with the news that Jun Takeuchi (director of Resident Evil 5) won't be returning for the sixth instalment of the survival horror series. And this got us thinking: how friggin' awesome would it be if Romero and Capcom teamed up to make Resi 6? The answer? Loads. Like loads and loads.

Alright, so it'll probably never happen. And even if it did, the now 70 year-old director, who's never worked in games before, could only realistically work in an advisory role. But screw reality. In our heads the game is already being made. And below, you'll find out exactly why the Zen master of the zombie flick could give Resident Evil just the undead shot in the arm it needs.

Though to be fair George Romero has lost a lot of what made him great in the world of Zombies. I mean his latest films have been absolutely terrible. I mean the last time he had a hit was the remake of Dawn of the Dead and that was only because Zack Snyder did it.

Yeah, he was part of The Crazies *I'm not sure to what degree saw his name in the credits* and that was the worst piece of shit I've ever seen.

    That wouldn't do shit

Just make completely rip-off Resident Evil 4 again but make it with better graphics. There, you already have a game that is better the RE5, and it will shit-tons.

Isn't that what RE5 basically is? A rip-off of RE4 with better graphics? XD

NEVER compare RE4 to RE5 RE4 was freaking AWESOME. RE5 was only ok.

The only different between RE4 and 5 is a black girl (well, arguably black) and a Wesker in a volcano. Other than that, nothing.

          Sheva's Australian

And it's not a rip-off, more like a watered down version of RE4 with better graphics. They didn't even rip it off properly

If their gonna rip of a game, rip off REmake, or at least RE0, hell I'll take anything over RE4.5

Or just remake or port or make a new outbreak, we all know we would want it and would buy it despite what it is. Hell even if it's just a slight remake done for the Xbox Live marketplace/PSN with the only difference being better online and skippable loading screens would be more than enough.

Diary of the Dead puts any other zombie movie to shame really. Romero prolly should've left it there cuz Survival of the Dead wasn't that good. That being said, Romero's storytelling and RE's storytelling don't mix at all.

Seeing as RE has a bit of a short attention span because it starts with zombies, then dogs, then more creatures. Gets to the point where zombies are hardly encountered at all. That and Romero's movies are mostly criticism about society in general while RE is basically all about "the big evil corporation" shite.

    So long story short? ....No.

But surely if they gave him the creative freedom he could incorporate them both, I mean criticising society and using a big evil corporation can kind of go hand in hand.

If it was up to Romero, most/if not all characters would end up dying (and zombifying), zombies (and ONLY zombies) would be taking over and eventually winning (thanks to he fact that people usually can never get along) and the they would be having a gory "all you can eat buffet" with anyone left standing.

In other words, not even the RE team would ever consider changing their happy endings for that.

Actually there are quite a few differences between RE4 and RE5.One is the levels and atmosphere.Sure RE4 wasn't scary but the levels were had a dark gothic feel unlike RE5 and it's crappy bright sunlit levels.Half the dark levels like the ship were nothing compared to the castles and sewers and such in RE4.The levels in RE4 were fun, the ones in RE5 on the other were some of the most boring levels ever imo.The enemies were also creepier than the ones in RE5.The Regeneraotors were rather creepy with the noise they made and all those spikes protruding from there bodies.Which brings me to another thing that ruled in RE4, the deaths. As if having a huge bug bug burn off half your face exposing part of your skull wasn't awesome as hell.Or the less gory but equally as cool regeneraotors grabbing you and impaling you on 20 spikes.

Most people hated looking after Ashley but that was what added some kind of tension to the game.I liked having to save Ashley far more than having Sheva run around helping me out.

There are simple things that make RE4 better than 5 like being able to combine items to make them give you more money.

RE4 is 10 times the game RE5 was.I finished RE4 9 times in succession, RE5 I finished once and then could only handle a level or two at a time after.

You only finished RE5 once because you played it nine times in succession before even buying it

When I bought RE4 I finished it 9 times in succession. When I bought RE5 I finished it once. Not one of those games I played before buying them.I don't rent games, borrow games or play them at all before buying them except for a demo if released.

      -_-

You played RE4 nine times in succession, yes? I'm saying RE4 and RE5 are almost the exact same game, therefore if you've played one nine times you've played the other, hence the joke.

Come on G, step your game up
