GameZone's Steven Hopper explores the possibility of keyboards for Rock Band 3 and the implications it may have on the franchise and gamers worldwide that have been following the series.

the biggest issue that Rock Band 3 and its alleged new keyboard peripheral might face is instrument burnout. At this point, many a gamer’s living room is cluttered with all manner of plastic toy guitars, drumsets and microphones and even turntables from games like Guitar Hero, Lips, Rock Band, DJ Hero, and so on. Finding a place for all these “instruments” is a tough feat, and I personally have devoted more than enough closet space to all manner of peripherals, and should Rock Band 3 offer up a new keyboard peripheral, that space will get even more slim.

People just need to stop buying new gear is all. I mean, I've heard HMX won't even be doing a big Special Edition of RB3 (where all the instruments are bundled) because nobody buys them anymore. But seeing as keyboards are the most heavily requested instrument, I doubt people won't buy it because they lack space. Just junk a few of those old guitars and make room for keyboards. Keyboards in RB = Pink Floyd: Rock Band

You need only listen the Final Countdown to understand why addings keyboards to just about anything is a bad idea.

I'm glad they're trying to keep the series fresh for those still interested, but music games haven't been the same for me since Guitar Hero 2.
