ThePlayStationShow.com staff writer Richard Cochnar takes a comedic look into how to prevent the Yellow Light of Death on the PS3. Find out what you can do to prevent this terrible situation.

No one is safe from hardware malfunctions. Even The PlayStation Show’s own BSmith has fallen victim to the PS3’s affectionately named Yellow Light of Death (YLOD). Much like the system-killing Red Ring of Death that afflicts Microsoft’s Xbox 360, Sony’s YLOD will leave you without a system for around a month, and sometimes even cost you 120 American Euros to have repaired. However, unlike the Xbox’s malady, the Yellow Light of Death is easily preventable. What follows is a guide to ensure that you are never without your console.

Don't treat your console like shit. That about sums it up.

I was out a PS3 for two weeks. It was literally a week to the repair facility and back to my house. They repaired it within a day. My ps3 was at the facility around 9 in the morning and was shipped out around 5 in the afternoon. I was very pleased with the process and give them two thumbs up.
I was worried that it was going to take a month like a lot of people were complaining about.
