To catch you all up to speed, Sony has introduced us to the newest form of the PlayStation Network. A version which will cost gamers $49 a year, which is the same price that Microsoft charges Xbox 360 owners for Xbox LIVE service. I didn't like how biased the article was. The author was clearly favoring xbox live. He failed to present us with both sides, all facts and added passive aggressive jabs when he could. All in all this article was a terrible example of an argument. Both of these platforms in the end, provide us, the consumer with great options. Once the PSN+ is out, maybe then we should start the comparison arguments.

He did seem a bit upset that PSN+ "free games" are taken away after the subscription is over. When it comes down to it, like he said in the article, if you want what you pay for, go for XBL because it is the best of the two, if you just want free online gaming go with PSN.

He was wrong that PSN+ brings no new features. They offer cross game chat and something else which I can't remember at the moment.

I have a PS3 and I do believe that currently, xbox has the better online service. Until we see what the PSN+ has down the pipeline, it's hard for me at least, to pass judgment on what it will have to offer. Fifty bucks for a year is fine for me (not so much for the younger crowd) so I'll be checking this out at the end of June. It just wasn't a very well written article IMO.

Yea, it didn't seem like a true PSN+ vs XBL comparison. It was more negative against PSN than anything and then a mention about XBL.

The free PSN is just as good as Live, this guy does not understand what "getting free stuff with a subscription" means. At least PS users can play online for "free," they do have to buy the game first though...

Well how is Live really superior to PSN? I mean there's cross gaming chat, but that's not really a big deal. I'm not trying to belittle Live here, but as far as I can see Live and PSN are pretty similar minus the price.

Having had both I gotta say PSN doesn't even feel like you're online, even when you are. Live also gives a sense that there is a community to it while PSN just has a list of pictures and names shoved into the back of the XMB.

Better-maintained servers = Smoother and faster online gaming. Simple.

Can't we at least wait for it to come out before comparing an actual service with one that's just written on paper right now?

I'm buying PSN+ even though I know it is going to start with sub-par features. I have a feeling that PSN+ is going to be like PSNFree when it first launched it was feature less and they just expanded and expanded on it to the point where £30+ a year might be expensive for PSN+ at first but it'll get better and better.
