Gaming used to be about using your imagination and having a good time. These days developers seem to focus more on achievements and shooting enemies into a bloody mess. Gaming has lost its direction, the elements that made the games from our childhood so great are all but gone in today's modern games.

Although not many have been blessed with the same experiences with gaming as I have, I do feel that it is probably an experience that many gamers at one point or another have gone through at least once in their lives. Back in the late 80's and early 90's, who could forget timeless classics like Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Castlevania IV and so many more? For most of us, they were more than just games, they were adventures; an escape from the realities of the ever changing world around us. With these games, there was almost no limit to what we could do, if we wanted to fly, we flew, if we wanted to throw fire, by all means we became Goomba arsonists.

what a stupid question. The point of games is to enertain and their are plenty of games that still do that.
Honestly the things people do to get hits -_-

How is this to get hits? It's a writers opinion on how he feels games aren't as fun as they used to be. It's a really well written piece and a pretty valid opinion if you ask me.

Well he seems to be saying that modern day games cant compare to his childhood memories.

Tbh seeing as games where new back in that day they will always have that "new" effect but that doesn't mean that modern day games don't live up or even losts it's way. Games are getting progressively better. Back then if you wanted a game with a deep enriching storyline, good luck.
A game with a unique outlook on how you play? Not a lot of those either.

Games haven't lost their way and just because Galaxy 2 can't live up to his first childhood memory of holding games certainly doesn't mean that.
