How is 3D technology affecting young gamers? Turns out that some in depth research into previous virtual reality consoles/headsets hides some horrific truths about the affects of 3D technology.

This isn't the first time in our brief gaming history that 3D realms have come into play. Remember the not too distant past when virtual reality was the next step we were going to take in gaming? What ever happened to it? Why did the whole idea of a virtual reality suddenly up and vanish? Turns out that Sega had been working on a VR set that would plug directly into their console, but fearing customer lawsuits over the health risks involved, dumped the project all together.

That's pretty scary stuff considering how many kids will have extremely prolonged exposure while playing the 3DS. Even if the exposure time required for symptoms to occur is high, it could surely be met by kids addicted to the games eventually.

Yeah, they mention that in the article, but that doesn't stop them from doing it anyway. Kids under 7 are a pretty good-sized portion of their market, so many will still slip through. Many parents won't even be aware of the disclaimer, or not think it's much of a concern.
