The Virtual Boy was the first leap into 3D gaming and technology by Nintendo, though it is a cool system it was considered one of Nintendo's biggest failures. So have they created the 3DS to prove it was a stepping stone to their biggest success?

When Nintendo pulled back the curtain on its newest handheld rig, the 3DS, at E3 2010, the comparisons to the Virtual Boy were inevitable. And as Nintendo gasses up the hype machine for the 3DS, it is taking precautions to not stumble into one of the Virtual Boy's epic failprints.

Intresting article I must say. However, I don't think it'll flop as the Virual Boy. Times have changed and technology is better. Course I'm going to wait for the first month to see how many 3DS screw up...

No way in hell is this going to flop. I have never owned a Nintendo console/handheld on release, only getting them years later. But this is the first nintendo device I have to have on launch day.

The 3DS will definitely not flop. There's too many kids in "Nintendos Young Audience" that want the new console and the game lineup is pretty good as well.
