Hackers ruin the overall game experience for many gamers predominantly in First Person Shooters games like Call of Duty, Halo, and Medal of Honors. Game Podunk writes how the best way to stop the problem is to report it as often times hacking is illegal and against game rules' terms.

When hackers get a hold of FPSs, they ruin the game by having more control over their environment than those players who follow the rules. They can give themselves buffs or advantages without working or earning these bonuses. They can get unlimited weapons and ammunition and can go on killing rampages that others cannot do because of the limitations in the game. While the non-hacking players are doing what they are supposed to, the hackers are gaining all the experience and controlling the environment which takes away from the game play for those who are not cheating.
