Game Podunker, Roweshow, writes his thoughts and opinions to why the Final Fantasy games don't appeal to certain gamers. Read on for more details....
2) Fanboyism
4 years ago I was in a conversation with two game design students who were telling me how lame my Xbox 360 is. They were telling me how much Halo sucks, and the graphics aren’t that good (really, that’s all you’ve got?). They said the PS3 will cure cancer, act as a slurpee machine, and acts as a ticket into heaven. Also, it would be home to the next iteration of Final Fantasy that would cure the remaining cancer the PS3 couldn’t as well as AIDS. Of course these people didn’t own PS3’s yet and FFXIII had never been seen before. So why is it that the biggest Sony fanboys are also the biggest Final Fantasy fanboys?

1) you are basing your opinions on FFXIII (that is only one game in a franchise that has kicked ass)
2) The famous developer for SE has yet to release his projects
3) shooters are getting repetitive, pick up a new genre please
4) Do you even know what makes a good RPG (no not a wRPG)
5) you are complaining about length of a game, child please... your argument is now invalid.
FFVII is a good point on that one. CG scenes looked great, gameplay had angry lego men.
And what the hell, 5 reasons why you speak out of ignorance.
1) He cited several games in the series.
2) Which developer?
3) He didn't once mention shooters
4) That's a very opinionated question, and for that matter do you?
5) Things that act as boring padding can't honestly count towards the length of a game, that's just... well boring padding. And half a day of that is somewhat ridiculous. Monster Hunter Tri was criticized for having an overly long tutorial phase offline(taking 2 to 5 hours to get through since it teaches everything from gathering, mining and hunting to swimming) but that game has hundreds of hours of gameplay within it for the people that pass it and according to recent figures the play time average is about 80 hours with many of those people not even hitting the highest mission tiers.
Now when you have 15 hours before getting to the fun, you better have hundreds of hours of fun ready after that, not another 10 before you hit the end.
The Final Fantasy series isn't perfect, and this guy almost has a decent arguement. Except he keeps sidetracking into poorly conceived points. At least he admits its just his personal opinion, rather than fact.
just gonna say something about point 4 & 5.
4: The legnth opinion, ok the only FF game i've played thats had me damn bored 15hours in is FFXIII (the newest) all other games have had the story off and kicking right from the get-go I mean hell FFVII drops you off a train at a nuclear reactor you gotta destroy ffs!
5: Nothing wrong with CG cutscenes you can't do anything in, hell MGS4 is full of them (with the exception of moving the camera or a robot) and yet that game was insanely fantastic.
but hey, their his opinions, so w/e.
