Game Podunker DanCurtis looks into why zombies are popular characters of video gaming and addresses some theory of why zombies are appealing to gamers.

I sat playing Dead Rising 2 earlier when I thought, 'You know what, there's a bit of an undead obsession sweeping the world at the moment'. Be it the mockery of vampires in Twilight (can you tell I don't like this film) or the shambling undead that stalk the world in the new series The Walking Dead, zombies and the general undead are becoming rapidly more popular than ever before. It was always inevitable that this infection of zombies would seep into the land of videogames and that's just what's happened - it has indeed seeped firmly into the bedrock of our games. So why are our brain-craving chums so popular at the moment? Read on and find out, as CurtisZone asks that very question, complete with analytical thoughts straight from the brain of me. Hope the zombies don't eat it.
