Whatever happened to our beloved company Rare, who was the birth giver of many of our favorite childhood games? After the purchase of the company by Microsoft everything that made that company great seemed to disappear. Find out what happened at GameZone.com

Donkey Kong Country. Killer’s Instinct. Conker’s Bad Fur Day. Banjo-Kazooie. These are some of the games that spring to mind when someone mentions Rare, the British developer whose name used to be—back in the days of Super Nintendo and the N64—more or less synonymous with superb quality.

I can agree with this article. Up until now, I didn't even know Kameo was made by Rare and I own that game! I guess I'll give it a try now knowing Rare made it.

It really is sad that they dropped off the market after going to Microsoft. I always think of Donkey Kong Country and Banjo Kazooie when someone mentions Rare and I'm talking about the classic Banjo Kazooie.

It would be nice if Microsoft brought them into the spotlight again but I doubt they will. Rare should of never left Nintendo.
